U.S.S. Akira and U.S.S. Dauntless-A by Starfox2o12 U.S.S. Akira and U.S.S. Dauntless-A by Starfox2o12
Two of my most cherished Star Trek model kits. The smaller vessel is the U.S.S. Dauntless NX-01-A from the Star Trek Voyager episode Hope and Fear. The larger vessel is the U.S.S. Akira NCC-62497. I bought them from the website Federation Models. They're the same scale as the ETRL Enterprises C, D, and E. Questions and comments are welcomed, enjoy,

Thank you. Any Star Trek episode with a unique starship in it is good in my book. My little Dauntless is one of the more fague model kits, she was only three pieces.

I would say they are. I have a couple of them. Dauntless and Akira you've but I also have an Enterprise-A in the same scale as Enterprises C, D, and E. They are solid resin plastic. Some have a nice amount of detail while others could be better. I will say that you will need modeling putty to fill in numerous gaps. Over all, they are nice kits.

They look great. I also have both the original 1:2500 Enterprise sets. I'd love to have those two beautiful models.

Thank you. I had those sets too but I blew them up a long time ago. You can find these models on the website Federation Models.

I wonder what they would look like if they were at scale. also what kind of models are threy? they look like papercraft, but you don't have them categorized as such.

Akira and Dauntless-A are to scale, most of my Star Trek kits are in the same scale, 1/1400. They are plastic resin model kits. A company called Starcraft Models produces Star Trek kits in the same scale as the ETRL Enterprises C, D,and E.

hmm interesting, for some reason I awlays thought the Dauntless-A looked rather large and that the Akria looked closer to the Nebula or Defiant's size. Maybe it's the scale of the nacels that give that illusion.

Their sizes do look off but they are the same scale. I try to model in 1/1400 scale as much as I can, because of my three ETRL Enterprises.

yeah it always bugs me when the kits are made in such different scales.. my NX-01 is about the same size as my Runabout, and my Enterprise-D is the same size as my TOS enterprise.

That usually happens when two or more model companies make models from the same show. Starcraft models (from which I bought my U.S.S. Akira from) produces star trek kits in the 1/1400 scale, which is great in my opinion.

most of mine were Revell; probably not as good as the quality of the resin models you've built.

You know what, the resin kits are just as good as the mass produced kits.
